Library collaboration instruction (LCI) is a process in which a classroom teacher and librarian collaborate to co-planning, co-implementation, co-assessment instruction. LCI is being studied and modeled in various dimensions such as the level of collaboration, information activities, and time scheduling. However, there is no integrated model that comprehensively covers teacher and librarian collaboration. The purpose of this study is to propose a schematic integration model for LCI by comparing and analyzing various models in five dimensions (level of collaboration, information activities, collaborative approach, time scheduling, and technological integration). The main results of the integration model for LCI reflected in this study are as follows. First, in terms of the level of collaboration, TLC integration model reflected such as library-based teacher-led instruction, cross-curricular integrated curriculum. Second, in terms of information activities, LCI integration model reflected social and science subjects inquiry activities in addition to the information use process. Third, in terms of collaborative approach, LCI integration model is divided into such as lead-observation instruction and parallel station instruction. Fourth, in terms of time management, LCI integration model took into account the Korean national curriculum and scheduling methods. Fifth, in terms of technology integration, LCI integration model reflected the PICRAT model, modified from the perspective of library collaboration instruction. |

The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of school library services using the RGT (repertory grid technique), and to examine whether there are differences in the perceptions and internal experiences of school library services between human resources (librarian teachers, subject teachers, and librarians). I used indicators such as element intensity, construct extremity, discrepant constructs, and implicative dilemmas to analyze the characteristics of school library services. The elements of the repertory grid were set to 9, and 14 constructs were set through focus group interviews with 3 librarian-teachers. The GRIDCOR 6.0, which can be accessed online, was used to complete the repertory grid for 30 graduate students of the College of Education, and 6 of them were selected and analyzed, considering the demographic characteristics. From the perspective of element intensity, it was found that the following school library services are important and influential: resource management, teacher-librarian collaboration, and reading and information counseling services. The clarity of one’s role, the actual performance, and self-regulatory ability were ranked high from the perspective of constructs intensity. |

A Study on the Space Innovation of Public Libraries Belonging to Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education(충남교육청 소속 공공도서관의 공간혁신에 관한 연구). Journal of Korean Library And Information Science Society, 52(4), 103-126. DOI : 10.16981/kliss.52.4.202112.103
This study aims to propose a plan to restructure libraries as a complex space for education and culture for 19 public libraries belonging to the Chungcheongnam-do Office of Education. For the purpose of this, case surveys and user surveys of complex facilities of domestic and foreign public institutions were conducted. Based on the findings, a space restructuring strategy was suggested by dividing the library space into the following ways: a space to learn (a comprehensive data room, a theme data inquiry room, a future classroom, a blended learning center, a STEAM training room, and an online lecture learning room), a space to express (a foyer, a maker room, a digital media creation room and an online lecture production room), a space to share (a club room, a group study room, a well-being complex culture space, a convenient living space, rest area, and a browsing area), and a space to enjoy (a performance-thought playground, infant and child archives, a digital virtual experience room, a specialized alcove room, and an outdoor reading room). In addition, a restructuring model of public libraries belonging to the Office of Education was proposed, such as a leading model, a basic model, a joint model, and a minimum model, in consideration of the size of the building, the size of the library, and the level of service and space. |

The purpose of this study is to redefine the competencies of teacher librarians and to derive implications for training and re-educating teacher librarians by analyzing the priorities of competencies. A questionnaire survey targeting teacher librarians based on analytic hierarchy process has been conducted. The results indicate that in terms of the upper-level areas of competencies, it was found that they prioritized teacher librarians’ competencies in the following order: information specialists, teachers, administrators, and cooperative leaders. Analysis of the lower levels of competency indicates that the priorities of the required competencies are listed in the following order: collection development, management and preservation, teaching and learning, media production, information service, library cooperative instruction, library assisted instruction, content curation. Therefore, being able to provide information resources by developing a collection of books to support the educational process in school libraries was found to be a critical competency. It seems necessary to cultivate the capacity to manage online and offline collections and produce and provide various teaching media and services by utilizing school library resources. It seems to give implications for the education of teacher librarians. |
